Declaration concerning the aggressive intention of a certain group to organize in the capital’s downtown a so-called gay parade

Christian Democratic People’s Party is worried about the fact that a certain group of individuals calling themselves „sexual minorities” is planning again this year to rally a parade in the downtown area of the capital. The aim of such demonstrations is to impose on the Society abnormal sexual practices as something normal.

Iu.Rosca1 2 300x225 Declaration concerning the aggressive intention of a certain group to organize in the capitals downtown a so called gay paradeCDPP esteems that such actions represent a direct threat for the moral foundations of the society, a rude offense at the address of religious feelings of the absolute majority of citizens of our country who are Christians in proportion of over 90%, as well as a strong blow against the Family institution.

This group’s pretense to obtain amendment of the national legislation in sense of legalization of marriages between persons of the same sex and adoption of children by such couples is unacceptable. Speculations that in a democratic society such practices would fell within the concept of fundamental human rights are groundless. Human being is God’s creation, from whom it received Moral Laws and in front of whom it bears responsibility. The laws of the state should not breach the Divine Laws, on which the entire Creation is being founded.  The obligation of each member of the society is to defend its family and children from manifestations that touch upon education and moral integrity. Our State’ institutions have the duty not to admit the profanation of religious sentiments and public morals by anti-Christian and immoral groups.

The Article 48 of the Constitution stipulates: „The family is founded on the freely consented marriage between man and woman, on the spouses equality of rights and on the duty of parents to ensure their children’s upbringing and education.” The whole society should act in spirit of this constitutional norm. In the same time, the Supreme Law of our country offers clear guaranties for the private life of each member of the society. The article 28 clearly stipulates that: ”The State shall respect and protect private and family life.” The existing legal framework also protects the private life of this group’s members. But there is a fundamental difference between tolerance of them in their private space and tolerance of shamelessness and depravedness in the heart of the capital. The fact that neither the State, nor the Society persecutes the homosexuals’ manifestations should not mean that they can be indulged in terrorizing the public opinion by obscene manifestations that offend the dignity of the absolute majority of the members of our society.

Any pretenses, according to which the European integration would be impossible without accepting certain degrading concessions towards this anti-Christian current are false. Europe has Bible as its spiritual foundations and cultural identity.

The Word of our Saviour Jesus Christ should be followed. CDPP shares the Christian vision on Human Being and the world as Creation of God. This is why we hereby appeal to the decision-making factors to take a public stand regarding the provocative intentions of homosexuals to organize a new manifestation.

We hereby address to the acting President, Mr. Mihai Ghimpu, Prime-Minister Mr. Vladimir Filat, other first-ranked officials and politicians with a call to take a firm attitude towards these manifestations.  We are also appealing to the General Mayor of Chisinau, Mr. Dorin Chirtoacă, to take all necessary measures not to allow the organization of this parade.
